If you have been injured at work, you may be elibible to receive benefits for physiotherapy, acupuncture and massage therapy treatment through the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB).
Our Physiotherapists can help you with your injury claim directly. No need to see a physician anymore!
Physiotherapists have direct patient care access to treat injured/ill workers. If you feel you have injured yourself on the job, you can directly book an appointment with one of our physiotherapists. No need to see a doctor beforehand. We can fill out the paperwork and initiate your claim. There is no need to wait to get into a physician and then wait weeks to get approval from WSIB. We will assess, initiate the claim and treat the injured worker for up to 4 weeks without approval from WSIB. If the claim is denied, you are not responsible for the costs. If you are approved, treatment will be approved for 12 weeks and if need be extended on an individual basis. Other treatments that may be covered by WSIB include acupuncture, chiropractic and massage therapy. Book an appointment today and let the healing begin. No need to continue to be in pain while at work. More information can be found at the WSIB website.
Physiotherapy Treatment Guidelines from WSIB
- The WSIB may approve up to 12 weeks of physiotherapy in an allowed claim.
- Continuing entitlement to physiotherapy is handled on a claim by claim basis, and the length of treatment may vary depending on the injury and response to treatment.
- Requests for extension of treatment should be submitted in writing before the end of the initial treatment period to ensure there is no interruption in treatment. The treatment plan/report should provide details on expected duration, outcomes and progress to date. Note: If there is evidence that the worker is not improving, the WSIB may not pay for continuing treatment.
- You may not bill more than one treatment visit per patient per day. Exceptions for a second same-day treatment will be considered on an individual claim basis.

If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, you can claim accident benefits according to the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS). In most cases the insurance company will require you to have a referral from a physician for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation may consist of physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic and/or occupational therapy.
